Bishop Allen was a bus stop before it was a band. I think I heard it (Next stop, Bishop Allen) before I ever read it. Such a curious name for a drive, no?
The members of the band named themselves in homage to their once-upon-a-time home in Cambridge on Bishop Allen Drive, where singer Justin Rice was mugged by a regular bum one day and solicited for spare change by the same bum the next.
